Where to go for a holiday this year

We have been back in the UK for 3 years, after living in Spain for 2. We have not had a holiday for 3 years and we could do with a break really. The problem is my partner has not been on a plane for 10 years as she is terrified of flying, so wherever we decide to go we will have to drive.

We have been on holidays in France before, and we have always enjoyed them. We dont really want to holiday in the UK as you cannot be sure of the weather, and the food is generally poor.

We have considered driving back to Spain and meeting up with some old friends, but its a 3 day drive. We did drive to Spain before when we lived there but you have time to get over it. It would be a bit of a headache driving for one week out of a 2 week holiday.

We could take a holiday in Ireland. I have heard that its very nice there, and I do love Irish music. I think the cost of living is quite expensive now though, since they went over to the Euro. When we were living in Spain i met a chap from Ireland who told me they pay 5 Euros for a pint of Guinness.

Oh well I suppose we will find somewhere eventually. We will probably end up booking a bed and breakfast in the Cotswolds. Unless I knock her out and put her on a plane. Now thats an idea.
