Verizon vs. Sprint Cell Phones

Uncategorized No Comments »

Both Verizon and Sprint uses CDMA technology. The multiplexing scheme also differs and W-CDMA is been used by Verizon which is not different from Sprints CDMA it’s just a multiplexing scheme. As CDMA cell phones of yesterdays never used a SIM, the choice of cell phone which supports them is less. Here the Sprint is little bit forward since the cell phone supporting Sprint network is more.

However, Verizon who came up with CDMA’s with SIM cards have fewer choices for the cell phone handset which people use. When coverage and roaming is concerned both the cell phones are providing same service but Sprint provides it with less cost when compared to Verizon. Next, as most CDMA cell phones support IP access and video Verizon is more probable in this aspect. But the audio quality is better in Sprint than the Verizon.

Also Sprint introduces advertisements to the customers who go for internet and IP access which sometimes makes the customer to feel uneasy. The Sprint providers come up with interpolated VGA resolution display which is a drawback since it is half-less than the resolution of smart phones. Sprint uses Bluetooth 1.1 for the transfer of data’s between the mobile and pc which is outdated when compared to the new Bluetooth standard .But Verizon comes up with the new standard of the wireless Bluetooth scheme. If you have taken decision to try purchasing cell phones, online market is there for your favor with plenty of cheap cell phone accessories. Cost ranges of cheap cell phone accessories you find online are exceedingly reasonable and economical.

When compared to Sprint the Verizon is a good service provides of IP access and internet browsing. In addition the software are error free, clean from viruses and robust. Sprint provides a cheaper data service which is a granted one. As can be seen both have ups and downs, but for users who needs less roaming and cheap can go for Sprint. Else Verizon is a good choice which comes up with good facilities with cost effectiveness.

Is it easy for you to compare the features of Verizon and Sprint now? Wish to see the cellular phone accessories for your dream cell phone? Find the grandly displayed collection of discount cell phone accessories online and pick your choice effortlessly.

Lose Weight with Low Carb Diets

Uncategorized No Comments »

Nowadays, people are obsessed with slim figures. We have to blame those weird fashion designers who use extra-slim models. Llow carb diet is popular for weight loss. You will not need weightloss pills or need to count calories. Use index cards or a palm pilot to track your progress. What you will need to do is eliminate all carbs from your diet. Doing this you will see major results within two weeks. In fact, most people lose between eight and 14 pounds over the course of two weeks simply by eliminating all carbs from their diet. Diet won’t work unless you do it for a few weeks and even months. Even the best weight loss pills out there cannot make you lose weight that fast! You may have used NV diet pills in the past and had good results, but if you want excellent results commit to two weeks of no carbs. After the two weeks is up you will see that you have great results. You might be wondering what carbohydrates are exactly, and they are any foods that contain sugar, bread, pasta, colas, candy, cookies, cakes, brownies, and even fruits. You may think fruits are healthy, and they are, but they can have a major effect on your blood sugar levels as well so you must eliminate them the first two weeks. After that you will see that you still lose weight just a little slower than at first. Low carb diets are an effective way to lose the weight.

What does it take to get a sponsor for your custom vehicle project

Blogroll No Comments »

Everybody always asks me, “how did you get so many sponsors” The short answer is, “because I asked”. I know this is an overly simplified answer, but it really is the main key to getting sponsorships. The second key to being successful when soliciting potential sponsors is having something worth sponsoring that is interesting and unique. It sounds easy, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. I got the idea for soliciting sponsors from truck I saw in Four Wheeler many years ago called “Project MPG”. It was a nondescript, white Ford F-350 dually which had been customized under the hood to produce the maximum miles per gallon possible. Their project truck had about eight or nine companies sponsoring it. When I first began my Custom Ford project, I contacted the owner of Project MPG for some advice. He very quickly gave me the brush off and being unhelpful was an understatement. So I took the initiative, based on my experience in marketing and business in general, and started making ’sales’ calls to companies that manufactured the products I needed for my project.

I knew that there would a lot of folks out there with a desire to build a custom four wheel drive truck and hope that they could get corporate sponsorship to lessen the financial burden. So before I even started disassembling the truck, the first order of business was to build a website about the project so that potential sponsors would be able see that I’m not just another “Joe Schmoe” trying to get some free parts. Once the website was created and online, I had a powerful sales tool with which I could contact the companies for which I was seeking products. I never asked for money, and conversely, never received any either. What I did receive was significant support financially through companies providing products and services for my project in exchange for the advertising and marketing opportunities my project provided. This was a win/win program for both of us. I won because I was able to secure products for ‘free’ or at cost. The sponsor won because they got to have their product associated with a potentially high profile marketing vehicle (pun intended).

The next step was determining who to contact at the various companies when the need arose. Finding the right person with whom to speak in a large company can sometimes be quite challenging. When dealing with smaller companies, it is usually much simpler, but not always. Once you find the right person, the next step is introducing yourself in such a way as to not come across as “wanting something”. It is much better to explain why you are calling, what you need and ask if they offer any kind of sponsorship opportunities. This set’s the stage for your conversation. The person on the other end now knows who you are, what you want and that you’re not trying to get something free right out of the gate. This greatly helps your chances of success. Now you have room to discuss and negotiate with them. Always be honest, but you don’t have to show all of your cards up front. Let them speak. They will usually give you a lot of good information about their company and about how they operate. Makes sure you let them know that you’re flexible and that even a partial sponsorship such as offering the product at cost or a significantly reduced rate would work as well.

Once you’ve set the tone, you need to let them know, somehow, about your website. Many times, they are curious and will pull up your site while you’re on the phone. Use this to your advantage. They can now see that your project is real and not just some pie in the sky pipe dream. Let them know how their “donation” will benefit them. Answer these questions for them: How will my company benefit How visible will the vehicle be (translation: how many shows will the vehicle attend and where). How visible will my company be (translation: how will people know my company sponsored you) If you can answer these questions effectively, you have a very good shot at receiving a “Yes”. If you can’t answer these questions effectively, then you have no business even picking up the phone. All you’re doing is wasting their time and yours.

Once you get the much sought after “Yes”, the next step is to show you’re sincere. Get their name up on your website under the list of sponsors. Make sure that everyone knows that Acme Corp. supplied the XYZ brand muffler bearings for your custom creation. Lastly, when the vehicle is done, get it out in front of the public. If you stay true to your word, you’ll have a much better shot at the next company as your project progresses. Good luck and be sure to let me know how your sponsorship quest pans out.

The Story of the Lost City of Gold

Blogroll No Comments »

The riddle of a drowned continent has mystified devotees of esoterica and attracted philosophers for a score of centuries. Thanks to the Ethersphere, New Age connoisseurs can now enjoy a wide variety of literature alluding to the myth of Atlantis, both academically oriented and a more fantastic read.

There are more thoughts regarding what the nature of this fantastic island engendered and where the wisdom of the ancients can be recovered than virtually any other Greek myth. Yet the tale of a lost continent which predated our earliest records has engaged the imagination of generations precisely because it explains many mysteries to the modern mind.

Well-known philosopher Plato first began to write about a sunken civilization, that he named Atlantis, around 355 BC. He believed the lost Island was just West of modern-day Spain and had perished more than 10,000 years before his time.

Prolific author Edgar Cayce wrote of the island as a vast continent, about the scale of Australia. According to the medium’s dynamic account, the inhabitants of the Island had mastered supernatural psychic abilities and mechanisms, and were the progenitors of the oddly congruent solar-worshiping peoples of the ancient Egyptians and the pre-Columbian Americans. The subject is identified by many writers with past lives as well as parapsychology, and is part of the mythos of Golden Dawn 2012 prophecy.

Hypotheses about the true whereabouts of the ruins range from the coast of India to the Bermuda Triangle, though, of course the most intriguing suggestions which are Mediterranean islands, most notably the Azores and Cyprus.

We may never know the facts, nevertheless, it appears difficult to dispute: human kind has reached great levels of sophistication in the distant past and the process of rise and fall, perhaps in a recurring pattern, prior to that which we habitually think of as the birth of society

Local history has never been such a riot!

While browsing the net the other night I came across this local history website: Harold Hill: A People’s History

For those that don’t know where Harold Hill is (and I’m sure that’s 99.99% of web users don’t!) it’s in the suburbs of London, UK. Actually, in the southern end of a county called Essex.

Harold Hill (or just “the ‘Hill” as locals call it) was created after the Second World War to accommodate bombed out East Enders from London’s slums.

It was, I am informed, the best quality social housing that has ever been built in the UK.

Housing and local history hardly seem such an exciting read but the author and webmaster, Andy Walpole, has managed to put together a riveting account of post-war change.

He traces the intellectual roots of the housing explosion to the 19th century Garden Cities movement and even further back to Robert Owen’s early Victorian social experiments.

The research involved in the website is meticulous, with numerous links to newspaper articles and retrospective quotes from local residents that span the decades from the 1940s to the 1980s.

The author focuses on two politicians who have played a particularly crucial role in Harold Hill’s existence – Anuerin Bevan and Margaret Thatcher.

The former was housing minister in the post-war Labour government, while the latter was Prime Minister of Britain during the 1980s.

Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government were responsible for selling off council houses to their occupants from 1981 onwards. Which, as the website notes, vastly changed the character of the local community.

There is a gripping read of Margaret Thatcher’s controversial government and its effects on Harold Hill in the page entitled Margaret Thatcher: Reggae, Royalty and Riots.

Most amusingly, there is lively section entitled youth movements. This features 1950s Teddy Boys and 1960s Mods and Hippies.

The page on Hippies is hilarious.

The following is a particularly funny story as local scally wags were given the responsibility for writing the publicity brochure for a free open air gig and duly obliged by writing an article entitled ‘All Coppers Are Bastards’:

‘There was an article written in there by John Simkin called ‘All Coppers are Bastards.’ Anyway, it was the early hours of the morning and we were sitting in my flat stoned, and suddenly there was this almighty thumping on the door downstairs. Straightaway we thought that it was a police raid, so we panicked and I eventually opened the door and it was this councillor John Riley. He goes, ‘I’ve just been to the police station and they say they are going to raid your house.’ So I said, ‘Why?’ ‘Well I’ve shown them the brochure for the concert.’ So I’m like, ‘You ****!’

Councillor Riley went into the police station and said, ‘What do you think of this?’ They said, ‘If you print this you’re going to be arrested.’ He was banging on my door at one in the morning. He frightened the life out of me, I thought it was the police. He was terrified of the article.

Then we were disowned by the people who were running the concert, which was an Albermarle-based committee made up of a few youth workers, a few councillors and a few youths.

The youths done all the organising, the finance was from the council, the magazine was written by us.

Riley got hold of it not long before the end, and said, ‘You’re all going to get busted.’

Then he said, ‘You can’t print it with that in it.’

So we said, ‘**** you, we’ll do our own. We’ll produce our own magazine and sell it at the concert.”

Harold Hill: A People’s History is well worth a read whether you are interested in politics, history or music.

It sets the standard for all other local history websites to follow.

My Nokia N95

Blogroll No Comments »

I don’t like being too far behind time as far as technology is concerned so when it came to upgrading my mobile contract with Orange, I just had to go for the hot, must have Nokia N95! I must say I’m quite impressed with this phone. I know it won the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award for ‘The European Media Phone of the Year 2007-2008′, and the TIPA award for the ‘Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2007′ but my previous phone was the Nokia N91! And the N91 is quite a good phone though it is a bit big.

For starters, the N95 is much more ergonomic and a bit smaller, but with bigger buttons that are easier to press. It also has a bigger 2.6 inch screen compared to the N91’s 2.2 inch screen so browsing the internet is more of a pleasure. Plus its video playback looks sharper and better. The N95 feels much lighter on top of that! It fits better in my pocket too. But the one thing that really impressed me was the camera, a 5-megapixel camera at that! It easily beat the N91’s 2-megapixel camera and it has a flash! And the picture quality is amazing with no noticeable graining. In fact it’s as good, if not better than my 5-megapixel digital camera! If the N95 had a digital zoom I probably would leave the digital camera at home more often than not.

The one thing that the N95 phone has that wasn’t on the N91 is integrated GPS. Even there Nokia seems to have made a good job. It’s a pity though that turn-by-turn navigation comes as an additional service.

One thing though, the N95 only supports up to 2GB memory whereas the N91 has a 4GB hard drive! But the sound quality from the built-in stereo speakers is better. I know there’s an 8GB N95 in the pipeline but my contract with Orange was up for renewal, so the timing was out. Hopefully I can do a swap for the N95 8GB when it gets released, then I wouldn’t need to carry an iPod around as well

Things to Consider When Looking to Buy

Blogroll No Comments »

So you’ve got your mortgage loan approval and are ready to look for a home. Here’s a couple of ideas to keep in mind when looking for the right home for you.

If you love gardening, you’ll enjoy finding a home with a large yard, maybe something with ornamental shrubs or even a vegetable garden. Existing gardens or not, a green thumb can make any yard beautiful. However, if you’ve got no time for working in the garden, you’ll prefer a low-maintenance, small yard. In fact, a town home with a pre-existing landscaping company may be more your style. That way you can simply pay for the service with the rest of your fees. However, a landscaping company can easily be hired to mow any yard, so if the home and location is perfect, don’t let the yard change your mind. The same thing goes if you love to garden, as even a small yard can bring rewards. Imagine turning the lawn into an English garden with stone walk-ways leading to a central bird-bath.

Communication may be another consideration for you. In the lower floors of some condos and apartments it can be hard to get good cell phone reception, just as it can be in far-out rural areas. This might be a really big deal if you’ve given up your land line and rely on a cell phone. If this is the case, test your phone while you are viewing a condo unit. If there are no or few bars of power, you may be able to get more with another type of phone, or another cell phone company.

If you have kids, proximity to schools, and a safe neighborhood will be a priority. If you are relocating to a new city, ask your REALTOR® for an area map, and any demographic information you might find relevant. If they have one, check out a school’s website. If you aren’t sure about a place, it might be best to rent in the area before buying, so that you can be assured of investing in the best neighborhood you can afford.

If you’ve got allergies, this is another consideration. If you are severely allergic to animals, make sure the house you are considering buying wasn’t recently home to that animal. If it was, consider if you can replace the carpeting that may still hold dander or fur, even after a professional cleaning. Alternatively, it may eve be the carpets that cause your allergy. More and more people these days are chemically sensitive, and chemicals in carpets and adhesives are often the cause. If this is the case, look for homes with real hard-wood floors and minimal or no press-board or laminate, as products that often contain formaldehyde. Some developers now are building homes with low-emission paints and plywoods. Also check that your home has good ventilation, and if there’s an air conditioner, that it be one with no CFCs. If chemical sensitivity is a concern for you, ask your real estate agent about developers that specialize in green homes.

If you have pets yourself, a yard again might be your priority. Although any yard can be fenced, if it’s already done, all the better. Consider also the neighborhood. Are there dog parks nearby where Fido can run without a leash?

Whatever your needs are, there will undoubtedly be a home that is perfect for you. With patience and forethought, you’re sure to find it.
