The future of online television
Blogroll November 26th, 2007As we all can see, classic television is about to die, as online television rises. Streaming limitations have been now taken down, as the bandwidth used for broadcast is no problem anymore. More performant codecs has been released, thus allowing the regular user to receive high quality images in real time. Video on Demand offers a different approach, as the user can easily view the recorded favorite TV show, having the posibility to skip the commercials, to stop, pause or replay the video. Donna Hoffman, a professor as Owen School of Business at Vanderbuilt says that the regular user now has the power to choose. Internet Television is most of the time free, no need for a special software or hardware or install.
The advantage is that anyone can watch the news, listen to music, view the favorite show anytime, anywhere, just by turning on the PC or laptop. Cable providers will soon offer paid subscriptions, along with the internet subscription, especially in countries without a solid cable infrastructure, like China, Vietnam or India.
If you wish to watch TV realtime, there is a very good TV portal website where you can watch over 300 channels for free, just by clicking a link: http://live-tv-channels.com/
