Michael Rogers
Years ago, how many years I refuse to say, I knew Michael Rogers. We went to school together and were very close friends. Lately I began to ponder on what had happened to my very good friend. With the internet so readily available to give us massive amounts of information, I though I would try to find him. After all, he couldn’t have gotten far from our sleepy little town. What I found slightly resembles something from Alias. I think my Michael Rogers must be a spy.
I found him actively speaking out in support of the gay community through Blogactive, the gay political outing blog. I never knew he felt so strongly about such a topic. I also never knew that he was such an avid cyclist, as he is a professional road bicycle racer in Australia, who turner pro in 1999. I tell you, Michael really gets around. Oh, and he is also a politician, and apparently a really good one. He is a Congressman for both Michigan’s 8th district and Alabama’s 3rd district. And, he is a Republican! I’m not really sure how that works out with the gay rights blog, but hey, he can apparently pull off anything. After all, he is also an actor. Michael Rogers recently played on an episode of the CW’s Supernatural as a bartender. So, apparently he can mix a mean drink, too. And actors can virtually play any role, so maybe that’s why he is so flexible in his career choices.
I also noticed that he has earned his MD license in several states. Dr. Michael Rogers abounds in almost all 50 United States. Hey, if he falls off his Australian bicycle, then at least he can treat himself. Unless the Michael Rogers obituary that I read meant the Michael Rogers that I know. I highly doubt that though. He is, after all a Doctor. If he was sick, he would have known in enough time to save himself. It was probably just a CIA ploy to throw us normal people off his track.
The one thing that I didn’t see was Michael Rogers the woman. I figured if Michael Learned, from the Walton’s, could be a woman, then maybe Mike changed his appearance as well as his political views and everything else about him.
I don’t know if I will ever find my childhood friend. There are so many Michael Rogers’ in the world that they could start their own colony. Really, will the real Michael Rogers puleeez stand up and let us know where you are and what you are up to. Inquiring minds, and old high school friends, really want to know.
