The art of inviting
Blogroll December 9th, 2007There is hardly any celebration that is complete without properly addressed invitations. The occasion could be anything from moving announcements and birthday parties to even wedding shower invitations. In fact, the turn out at a party and the success of the event largely depends on the design of the invitation and the wordings.
Invitations should always be short on information and yet complete. It takes just a little prior planning and now, with the internet technology, you can design and send out the invitations yourself instead of using the services of a card printer. You need to find a suitable graphic that befits the invitation and the occasion. For example, in the case of a baby shower invitation, you could choose a picture of a baby, babies, angels or a mother and child or even an expectant mother.
The invitation should also be of the appropriate color. While kids birthday party invitations could be colorful and vibrant with some glitter too, that for a moving announcement should ideally flaunt earthy colors for extended warmth. The invitation to a wedding shower invitation could have colors commonly associated with romance, pink, mauve and glitter. The wordings should be apt; specifying the venue, date, time and your personal contact details for your intended guests to respond to – either to confirm their presence or apologize for their absence.
